Employment


Having taught history at a number of UK universities, Richard now writes and lectures on British involvement in the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939. He is a research associate at the Cañada Blanch Institute at the London School of Economics and a trustee of the International Brigade Memorial Trust.

Richard also runs a company called Geckos, teaching rock-climbing skills to children.
   
Education

 
Richard graduated with a first class honours degree in history from Middlesex University in 1994. An M.A. at the Institute for Historical Research followed, and he completed a Ph.D. in International History at the London School of Economics in 2001.
